My name is Mercy Waithera, I am an inmate at Lang’ata Women’s Prison. I worked on this cross stitch pattern of this cartoon. It took me two weeks to complete it. I am proud of the work I do with Cross Stitch because I am financially empowered to take care of my needs and that of my child who is in my younger sister’s care. I know even as I complete my time here in prison when I go home they will receive me and the project made that possible.
